The educational system of Louisiana may be plagued by the continuing problem of low teacher compensation packages. Where compensation is a critical factor that will greatly influence a potential candidate’s acceptance of a teaching position, it has great impact to student achievements. Teachers’ behaviors are strongly affected by salary levels. This includes their decision to leave the school district or worst leave the teaching profession. To secure new teachers and encourage professional growth of those who are already in service at the state, the Board of Education adopted a salary schedule prepared by the superintendent of schools. The superintendent was given the prerogative to consult with staff members to determine the needs of each employed teachers in the district. CISCO Systems Inc. expanded its 21st Century Schools Program known as 21S to Louisiana to help rebuild the states education. The initiative is to reconstruct and improve schools with the mission to establish a world class education system. The state’s quality of education attracts fewer companies. So the focus to develop education system is a major factor that determines the economic progress of the state. Their graduates got to qualify the requirements of the intensive labor market. Louisiana funded a statewide initiative on the study of 3D websites to higher education. Second Life is an effective teaching tool complete with social laboratory where professors conduct classes and hold office hours in avatar forms. Role playing, simulations, exploration, and experimentation are tried out in a relatively risk-free environment. Getting classes to appear interesting virtually helps schools to improve student’s attendance and enthusiasm.
