Adult basic education professional development workshops, strategies, techniques, applications and lessons for writing in the ESL, ABS, and GED classroom were also provided by the state. The state believes that teaching effective reading strategies to ESL students will help improve standardized test scores so they focus on to improving the reading skills of both adult and children to facilitate implementation of any change in the school system.
