Summary:

The state just made it easy for schools and educators to meet. The New Jersey Department of Education in partnership with USTEACH established NJHIRE.com website to provide information and recruitment services for the education community. NJHIRE is Interactive Education Recruitment Network that uses technology to help educators find the schools they would want to teach and schools to find the qualified teachers they seek to hire. On its attempt to improve the present school system, New Jersey has passed Legislature on new school funding law which eliminated Abbot Designation currently applied to the 31 poor most urban districts. The law seeks to provide students free or reduced-price lunches regardless of their district. It also finds additional resources to them and includes a census driven method to fund special education. Students who are planning to complete or are completing course works at New Jersey Community Colleges may use the NJ Transfer to learn how their courses are getting transferred to other selected community colleges. It contains specific information on what and how to go through with school transfers and requirements. New Jersey is committed to saving lives of their students not only in their education and classroom learning but goes as far as heading an adapted program of Lifelines which is a school based curriculum for youth suicide prevention. The New Jersey Adolescent Suicide Prevention Project is online suicide prevention training containing practical information addressing specific issues of teens who may be at risk for suicide. The program motivates educators to become partners in suicide prevention and help save lives. Teachers are students’ mentors and are the channel to obtaining knowledge to become successful in their career and become assets of the nation. The state has just shifted traditional role of teachers to become their strength and guide to nurture life so they may live up to fulfill becoming successful students of New Jersey. Teachers in New Jersey have been innovative enough in their teaching strategies from using video games to singing math lessons. Classroom learning is not that boring after all. A combination of technology and human talents are getting children excited and ready for class. The New Jersey Media Literacy Project just provided the means to make students media literate. The Center engaged teachers in media education workshops to better prepare and teach them how to incorporate media instruction in their classes. The power to learn comes after motivation. New Jersey is tapping on technology, intelligence, skills and enthusiasm to innovate traditional classroom learning.
