North Dakota Teachers Continuing Education has its own website full of information regarding latest continuing education courses, workshops and conferences. The website was established in an effort to save time for teachers to do the search and spend more time instead doing the research for their lesson plans. The same mission also goes for North Dakota Teacher Center Network which provides useful links to help and assist practicing teachers and education students gain professional knowledge and skill development. Edutech is the portal use for the school websites which provides web hosting and listing of schools. Membership with Edutech is a requirement for schools wanting to obtain website hosting services. Free use of any FTP or website publishing tools is given to manage their respective school sites. On the other hand, home education still exists in the most rural areas of North Dakota. The procedure remains the same with other states providing home schooling. Parents are required to file a statement of intent to the superintendent of the child’s school district of residence. Teen problems and suicide is fast becoming a problem of the state and so it has promptly established a site solely for its suicide prevention project. The project works closely with the state suicide prevention task force and other tribal and rural partners to demonstrate measurable approaches on innovative and creative public health including training on suicide prevention strategies. To help both students and teachers further, loan forgiveness programs were given to students who qualifies under the technology occupations student loan program and to teachers who qualifies in the teacher loan forgiveness program. To make education easier and convenient for North Dakota students, online courses were offered to facilitate distance learning. Online learning has become one of the most effective ways of gaining qualifications in the state. It requires new ways of thinking and learning for students who would want to study independently in their own pace. Elearning makes it possible for students to avail of distance education courses that match their needs rather cheaper than attending to traditional classroom environment. Technology makes it easier for North Dakota to enhance the learning experience of their students.
