Summary:

South Carolina Department of Education motto “Together, we can” serves as an inspiration for the state to promote both state and community efforts to promote professional development opportunities and programs. Some of its programs are the TeacherLine online resources and SCOPD program focused on specific subject areas which gives teachers a comprehensive continuing education to become professional efficient teachers of South Carolina. Education is very important especially on the aspect of delivering quality education. Education code for homeschooling requires parents to have at least a high school diploma or GED to qualify. Parents who are applying homeschooling under their local school district supervision need to pass the test. However homeschooling under a homeschool association do not need to undergo the test. To make the option open and at their advantage, South Carolina established virtual training instructions to students through SCVSP content approved courses at the South Carolina Virtual School. Teachers and students may access course materials 24/7 provided they have a reliable internet connected computer to participate. Strong effective teachers are critical to the dynamic academic success of South Carolina students. The state continuously supports good teaching, exerts all efforts to raise standards ad accountability and connects learning to the real world application which bridges the gap between school knowledge and work qualifications. The state has provided more instructional choices for students and parents in a more effective and equitable school funding system. In this regard, school districts have fully integrated technology into instruction to meet changing economic and education needs. Their vision for the 21st century learners is to better engage plugged-in generation by integrating seamless technology to innovate traditional classroom learning that will serve as the catalyst for change.
